Self-Direct Literacy Package

If your school is outside of the Greater Toronto Area and would like to offer VRP to the children at your school we can send you a Start-up (Do it Yourself) Literacy Package which includes:

• How to recruit Volunteer Readers
• How to approach the school Principal
• What materials you’ll need (record books, stickers, etc.)
• How to prepare schedules for the Volunteers and the children
• Volunteer Reading Guide
• How to train Volunteers – Workshop agenda and tips
• How to manage the graduation celebration.

This package provides guidance not only to school administration and staff, but also to the Parent Council which will play an active role in recruiting reading volunteers.
